When printing with Palette™/Palette+™ (hereinafter referred to as “Palette”), position Palette so that it lies on the four rubber pads on the underside with the screen facing up. Palette has been tested extensively in this position, and was designed to be placed in this fashion.
We haven't formally done any testing on placing Palette vertically, but we have had a few Palette owners who have set theirs up in that way. If you do decide to mount your Palette, just remember to do so in a way that does not obstruct the removal of the lid as sometimes you may have to remove this portion of Palette in order to perform maintenance, such as cleaning the hot tool. You can see some examples of printer + Palette setups in our forums.

For enclosed spaces, we recommend setting up Palette in a well ventilated area and to provide at least 4 inches of unobstructed area around Palette. We also have not done formal testing of Palette in an enclosed space, but an issue which may arise is the splice quality, as the hot tool may cause the temperature to rise within the unit, causing the cooling process to not be as effective.
